Graphite

INDUSTRIAL MINERALS

Graphite

In addition to diamond and fullerene, graphite is the third modification of carbon.

Pencils

The metallic gray mineral occurs frequently in nature, usually crystallizes in the hexagonal crystal system and has a layer structure. This crystal structure results in material characteristics that make graphite of interest for many applications: very good electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent lubricant properties and high temperature and oxidation resistance.
