Suspensions
are a special form of dispersions in which solids (e.g. pigments, active ingredients, ceramic particles, active materials) are mixed in the form of insoluble components as a disperse phase in a liquid (e.g. water, solvent or oil) as a continuous phase.
Typical examples of suspensions are paints, coatings, packaging inks, inks, ceramic slurries, battery coatings or pharmaceutical injections.
