NETZSCH Expands Pamir Portfolio with New Ceramic/PU Design for Sensitive Dry Grinding Applications

With the new Ceramic/PU design version of the Pamir 40 and Pamir 1500, NETZSCH expands its portfolio for dry grinding processes where purity, whiteness and low contamination are critical. The proven Pamir dry agitator bead mill is designed for energy-efficient fine grinding, narrow particle size distributions and a compact footprint.

The new Ceramic/PU design addresses key challenges in dry grinding of minerals and fillers: iron contamination can affect product quality and brightness, while highly abrasive materials can cause significant wear and maintenance effort. At the same time, contamination-free jet milling solutions are often expensive and energy intensive.

This is where the Ceramic/PU design Pamir provides a strong alternative. Its wear-resistant, contamination-reducing inner lining supports the processing of white and sensitive products with minimum iron-contamination, consistent product quality and reduced wear.

The solution is available in two sizes:

  • Pamir 40 for pilot trials and process development
  • Pamir 1500 for reliable scale-up to production

Typical Applications and Key Process Benefits

The Pamir in Ceramic/PU design is particularly well suited for the dry grinding of minerals and fillers, including:

  • Silica
  • Calcium Carbonate
  • Barite
  • Talc
  • Mica
  • White cement and fillers

For these applications, a compact and efficient grinding solution is essential. Compared with ball mill systems, the Pamir requires up to 75% less space, helping to reduce the overall footprint of the grinding plant. Its design also allows for integration into complete plant solutions and supports easy maintenance.
